Single pole switch (rd and blk wires) not compatable with replacement single pole timerswitch (blk, blu, wires?
I am replacing a single pole swith for a fan with a time switch. The original toggle switch has a red and black wire running to it. The electonic timer switch has black, blue and white wires (and green ground) running from it. Is there anyway to use the new electonic timer switch with the existing setup (i.e. without running any new wires). Appreciate any help with this questions.
It appears that you are missing the white/neutral in the box. Check timer instructions to see if it requires a neutral.
