Can anyone tell me about french symbols?
I am doing a project on the history of French symbols like the Fleur-de-lis, the rooster, the flag colors and so on. Does anyone know of any other typical symbols assosiated with France (nor food or drinks but something kind of historical). I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!
They have a female symbol called “Marianne” who is to France what “Britannia” is to Britain and “Lady Liberty” is to the USA.
Then there is the Cross of Lorraine which was the symbol used by Jeanne d’Arc (aka Joan of Arc) and later adopted by the Free French during WW2
