what is the proper term for the size of GFI outlets and rocker switches?
Is there a proper word that describes the size of wall plates/switches/outlets that fill the large rectangular holes in outlet covers, like GFIs, rocker switches, motion sensors, etc.? I’m referring to home electrical stuff here.
If that’s confusing, maybe this will make more sense. Look at this link below. Is there a term that describes this size of outlet/switch?

Thanks.
It’s called a ‘Decora style’ switch. They make non-GFCI outlets that will fit those plates as well. But most people will go to the Home Depot and simply ask for a GFCI plate, and the guy knows what they are talking about.
‘Gang’ refers to the number of switches/outlets in a row. The plate you linked to is a 5 gang Decora plate.
